Redhawks football dedicate opener, season to fallen police officer

Before the start of every Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton football season opener, the players form a line – helmets in hand – as they have done every year since the team’s inception. Saturday was no different. There was still a half-hour until kick-off at Houston Fields in Contoocook when the players and sidelines went quiet. The village’s VFW Post color guard marched onto the field, followed by a procession of Hopkinton police officers and Peter Powers of Hillsboro. Liam Flanagan, chosen as a Captain 2017 Maple Sugar Bowl Game

Redhawks are sending out a HUGE congratulations to Liam Flanagan, who was chosen as a Captain yesterday, for Team New Hampshire, in the annual Shriners Maple Sugar Bowl Football game between NH All Stars and Vermont All Stars! Liam is wearing #87 and playing TE for New Hampshire in this Saturdays game at Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont, and game time is 5:30pm. West is best in unforgettable CHaD football game

MANCHESTER – The 2017 edition of the CHaD East-West All-Star Game won’t soon be forgotten, but it may need an asterisk in the record books. Nothing should be taken away from the players and coaches of the West team, which defeated East, 25-14, in the sixth annual game that benefits Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth.
